Declaration of financial interests

I do not allow my financial interests to influence my comments or opinions expressed on this site. Similarly, whether or not I like a brewery's beers is not a consideration when making investments. I do however believe, unlike certain Tory (and indeed Labour) MPs, that I should be completely open and honest about my financial interests in the industry on which I am commenting.

At the time of writing, I have the following interests in the brewing and pub industry:
I own 358 shares in Fuller, Smith & Turner. I am also a member of the CAMRA Investment Club through which I have an indirect share holding in a wide range of breweries and pub operating companies. The club's policy is to invest mainly in breweries producing real ale, it invests in operating companies in order to use its shareholding to try to influence the companies' policies on real ale. I do not have any influence on what investments the club makes.

Only draught beers satisfying Camra's definition of Real Ale are listed on this site. Keg beers, canned beers and similar abominations are treated with the contempt they deserve and ignored. Neither are bottled beers listed, whether bottle-conditioned or not; much as I'd like to cover these, maintaining a definitive list of them would make Beermad an impossibly large task.
